Horses on the Hill (HOTH)
Healing Through Horses, Nature, and Community
Horses on the Hill (HOTH) is an innovative equine-assisted learning program that combines horse therapy, urban farming, and horticulture to serve the communities of Price Hill. Located at 1655 Ross Avenue, HOTH provides a healing, hands-on environment where individuals impacted by trauma, addiction, abuse, and instability can experience restoration through nature and animal interactions.
Who We Serve
HOTH welcomes at-risk youth, women in recovery, abuse survivors, and individuals seeking emotional and mental healing. Many participants come from difficult backgrounds, where they have faced neglect, trauma, or cycles of instability. Through guided equine-assisted learning and farm-based activities, HOTH helps them develop emotional regulation, build confidence, and cultivate a sense of trust and responsibility.
Therapeutic & Educational Activities
HOTH provides a full-spectrum healing environment, incorporating:
- Equine-Assisted Learning – Hands-on interaction with horses, teaching participants trust, patience, and self-awareness.
- Barn Management & Animal Care – Developing responsibility through feeding, grooming, and stable maintenance.
- Horticulture & Urban Farming – Engaging with nature, growing fresh produce, and learning sustainability practices.]
- Trauma-Sensitive Nature-Based Therapy – Providing a peaceful, structured setting where participants can heal emotionally and spiritually.
A Partnership for Trauma Healing
HOTH is proud to partner with Natural Freedom Wellness Center, an organization specializing in trauma-informed equine-assisted learning. Through this collaboration, BLOC is able to offer evidence-based horse therapy interventions that provide participants with a structured and deeply transformative healing experience.
The Future of HOTH
As we continue to grow, HOTH is expanding its impact by:
- Integrating Licensed Counseling Services to provide professional mental health support alongside equine therapy.
- Establishing 4-H Clubs & Youth Programs to engage students in leadership, teamwork, and agricultural education.
- Deepening Urban Farming Initiatives to create more opportunities for participants to learn about nutrition, sustainability, and self-sufficiency.
Why It Matters
For many who walk through our gates, HOTH is more than just a farm—it’s a sanctuary. It’s a place where healing happens through connection—connection to animals, nature, mentors, and a community that believes in them.
At Horses on the Hill, we believe that restoration starts with relationships, and through God’s creation, hands-on learning, and loving guidance, we help participants find peace, strength, and hope for the future.
